Carie Hansen, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist
Carie Hansen, LMT, decided to become a massage therapist because she has felt drawn to helping others by being a healer. Within her massage therapy training, Carie developed her own path to healing, especially on an emotional level. Through that journey, she has a deeper understanding of how our emotional health is tied to our physical health. Carie seeks to help her clients heal on both levels through massage therapy. Dealing with her own emotional pain, Carie came to learn that emotional pain can manifest itself as physical pain. By healing one aspect of pain, it can help the other, thereby bringing back balance and peace.
Carie completed training of 750 hours at Intellitec College in Grand Junction, which included further training in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot/cold stones, pregnancy massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. She looks forward to expanding her scope of practice by becoming certified in modalities such as medical massage, trigger point therapy, and neuro-muscular techniques.
Carie especially enjoys working with patients who seek care for focused issues such as Piriformis syndrome and sciatic pain. Carie likes to regularly incorporate stretches into her therapeutic massages, which can also help patients relieve chronic neck and shoulder tension, low back and hip pain. Carie’s patients praise her for her unique ability to stay connected with the patient and “read” the body’s soft tissue in a way that allows the patient to relax into the healing process.
Carie chose to work at Healing Horizons Integrated Health Solutions because of the teamwork involved in providing a collaborative and integrative approach to healing. In her free time, Carie likes to hike, read, and spend time with her family making lasting memories.
